Role Description

This is a remote VOLUNTEER role for a backend developer at BlueWave Labs. As a backend developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the server-side logic of our software applications. You will also collaborate with the front-end developers and product managers to ensure seamless integration of the user-facing elements with server-side logic.

This is a dynamic role that requires problem-solving, code optimization, and continuous improvement of our backend systems.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Node.js developer
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript
• Experience with Node.js frameworks such as Express.js or Nest.js
• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript frameworks like React
• Understanding of asynchronous programming and event-driven architecture
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
• Experience with database technologies such as MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL

Responsibilities

• Develop server-side logic using Node.js
• Design and implement RESTful APIs
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic
• Implement data storage solutions using databases such as MongoDB, MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Write reusable, testable, and efficient code
• Troubleshoot and debug applications
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices

You can work remotely from anywhere in Canada provided you have a work permit.
